아트스페이스3은 2013년 서울의 인사동에서 개관하였으며, 2018년부터 현재까지 통의동에 자리잡고 있습니다. 동시대 미술 작품을 볼 수 있는 전시 공간과 더불어 복층구조로 연결된 유구 전시실에서는 해당 터에서 발굴된 16세기 주거 형태와 유구를 볼 수 있습니다.
아트스페이스3은 국내 작가들을 발굴하여 작가들의 작업활동을 지원하고, 전시 등을 개최하여 작가들을 국내외로 알리는 작업에 힘쓰고 있습니다. 이름에 포함된 숫자 '3'은 '예술가', '관람객', 그리고 '아트스페이스3' 세 그룹간의 조화와 균형을 지향하는 의미를 담고 있습니다. 아트스페이스3은 국내 작가들과 그들의 작품을 발견하고 꾸준히 지원함으로써 작가들과 함께 성장하며, 한국 미술계가 다방면으로 발전할 수 있도록 노력하고자 합니다.
Art Space 3 is committed to introducing a broad spectrum of contemporary Korean arts with a novel and innovative perspective. Number '3' signifies the aim of the gallery to seek a balance and harmony between three groups: the artist, the audience, and the gallery.
The space has a distinguishing exhibition space, marked by a duplex-type structure linking the gallery, and the exhibit space for cultural properties, which invites the audience to see the works in the gallery, and a housing type of sixteenth century Joseon-era at the same time. Moreover, the space, consisting of the walls of various finishes—white, and cement—and the ceilings with different heights of four or eight meters, is designed to enable a wide variety of exhibitions.
Art Space 3 will continue to promote the creation of new and experimental works, and endeavor to become the cultural voice of artists.
